Through a unique partnership with CareFirst, the YMCA recently unveiled PHD on the Go -- an RV filled with playground games, toys and teaching tools and staffed by experts in youth wellness. PHD on the Go will allow the YMCA to bring this nationally recognized youth wellness programs to children who don't have access to safe play areas as well as to local schools who don't have a physical education curriculum. Additionally, CareFirst's sponsorship will allow the program to expand to all YMCA branches and camps in the greater D.C. region. PHD is a life-changing youth wellness program that responds to the childhood obesity epidemic and the increasing inactivity of young people through health assessments, exercise, nutrition and family involvement.
